The first version of the Sauerkraut was only offered in a brace version and was derived from the Hot Pocket project which was heavily inspired by the HK G36c. This was my first folding mechanism and I learned a lot about the mating surfaces and button sweet spots.
Version 2 came with a heavy remix and leaned even heavier into the German brand. This time, there’s a full-size stock offered with the files and it debuted along side the Apple Pie Pump Action AR15.
The button and mount were redesigned and much easier to use and the brace has a more obvious geometry.
